Research Spotlight

This recent paper by authors from China Agricultural University, University of Leeds, Tarim University, and Michigan State University examines the potential global impacts of the Russia-Ukraine War on food systems and biodiversity, revealing that the conflict could lead to significant cropland expansion and increased biodiversity loss worldwide, particularly in the United States, Spain, France, India, and Brazil, under various war scenarios. The study underscores the urgency of integrating conflict considerations into biodiversity conservation strategies.
