Many more details coming soon!
The world is facing increasingly complex challenges—from devastating wildfires and floods to infrastructure failures driven by climate change. At the I-GUIDE Summer School 2026, we are uniting the next generation of scientists, data experts, and innovators. This immersive experience empowers participants to harness geospatial artificial intelligence to better understand, predict, and respond to disasters, driving impactful solutions through interdisciplinary collaboration.
What is the I-GUIDE Summer School?
Hosted by the Institute for Geospatial Understanding through an Integrative Discovery Environment (I-GUIDE), this annual Summer School is a fully funded, week-long experience where selected participants from across the U.S. come together to explore exciting ideas with AI and spatial data.
In 2026, we’re bringing together graduate students, postdocs, and/or early-career researchers to:
- Work in interdisciplinary teams on real-world problems
- Get hands-on training in machine learning, geospatial tools, and high-performance computing
- Collaborate with leading scientists, technologists, and practitioners
- Learn how to transform data into actionable insight
And will take place on the campus of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota!
Fully Funded for Selected Participants
Every participant selected through our competitive application process receives:
- Round-trip airfare
- Lodging and meals
- Access to training, mentorship, and a vibrant research community
This year’s application will be available in early 2026.
