This webinar will provide an introduction to accessing and working with IPUMS NHGIS data programmatically in R using the ipumsr package and the IPUMS API. The session will focus on a key components in the development of reproducible workflows including discovering available data (IPUMS NHGIS), creating and submitting API data extractions, and importing tabular and spatial datasets into R for analysis.
The session will include a live coding demonstration using R notebooks from the R Spatial Notebooks project. The project is made up of a series of notebooks offering a practical, step-by-step framework for developing reproducible, API-based, spatial data analysis workflows in R.
